Ten Ways to Keep Your Website Unnoticed on the Internet

December 30th, 2007

If you are a person who likes to keep up with current trends you will know that it is important to have your own website. After all anybody who is Anybody Important has a website of their very own. However one of the dangers of having a website is that someone browsing on the internet might discover it one day and what is worse, actually pause to visit your site and read its contents! They might even be interested stopping for a while to read what you wrote in it, or want to buy the widget you thought might be good to sell as you have more than one of them. If you would like to reduce the possibilities of that happening be sure to follow these ten tips, and you can be sure that very few people will even know your website exists.

1. Choose an obscure domain name. Make sure the name you select has no relevance to the content of your site, to you or your business. Whatever you do make sure the domain name contains NO keywords that would indicate what your site is about and attract attention when someone searches for a site with your content or product.

2. Do not submit your website URL to any search engines, especially the big ones like Google, Yahoo, or MSN. Do not participate in any offers for your website to be submitted to search engines for free.

3. Never add fresh content or pages to your website. In fact it is a better idea to identically duplicate your content on every page.

4. Avoid reading anything about how to promote traffic to your website. One of the strategies might sink into your sub conscious, and you might find yourself promoting your site by accident.

5. Set up your website and then just leave it. Try not even to visit it yourself if possible in case your computer has tracking cookies. Any visits to your site could attract attention.

6. Make sure that you have a generic e mail address that you use all the time. An example of this might be a hotmail or yahoo address. Then when you write emails no one can track down your website through your email address. An address like me @mywebsite.com would just give the game away.

7. Even if you are passionate about writing, do not even consider writing an article and submitting it to a free article submission site such as Articles Beyond Better.Com. The problem with submitting an article is that you have to put something in the resource box which tells other people who you are and how to visit your website and buy your widget. It’s amazing how just one article can be reprinted all over the internet, and read by people all over the world. That kind of exposure is very harmful to secret websites which do not want to receive any visits.

8. Do not put a blog or bulletin board on your website. This just encourages all sorts of visitors who want to read what you write and ask you questions. Some people often make return visits, or even become regular visitors to blogs, forums and bulletin boards. After all it would be terrible if someone actually ‘bookmarked’your site and came back because they liked it!

9. Do not ever mention or put your website address on your business card, any promotional business material, or as a signature file on every e mail you send.

10. Choose an unreliable hosting service that has a bad reputation. In this way the server will not be up all the time, and people will not be able to access your site even if they wanted to.

By following these guidelines you can be pretty sure that no one will notice that your website exists. I hope you have plenty of money though, and are not wanting to make any income from your website. The problem with a website that is un noticed is that you still have to pay your hosting server every month for the privilege of your website taking up space on their server even if no one comes to visit it.

Linking Strategy in the Post-Jagger Period

December 30th, 2007

“Please take down my link.” I never thought I would live to see the day that I would get an email like this, but the latest Google update has caused some people to panic. This particular person thought that his site would be penalized if he had a link coming from a site in an unrelated field. Well, following the Jagger update how should we approach linking? Should we “nuke” our reciprocal links directories altogether? Or is there a sensible way to continue linking?

Google doesn’t explain the details of their updates and algorithm changes. It is widely thought they made moves to crack down on spamming and techniques designed to fool their indexing efforts. And possibly sites that added lots of irrelevant links in a short period were penalized. Google representatives have also stated publicly, in forums, that if you link to a “bad neighborhood” you could be penalized.

I can’t get inside the Google algorithm anymore than anyone else, but I strongly believe that linking should go on in a “natural” way, in a way that predates the linking craze which Google itself helped to create. Here are some elements of a natural linking strategy.

1. Link to kinds of sites that will provide good resources for your web visitors.

This is actually the very idea behind Google’s system of Page Rank. Sites that are “cool”, that are informative and interesting will get “votes” or links from other sites on the basis of their value as a web resource. So, link to those sites that are worthy of being in your link directory.

2. Don’t link blindly just because someone is willing to give you a link in return.

Check out any site that is proposing a link exchange with you. Are they a possible spam site? A site that has no content and only ads, or a site in fields such as online gambling, pornography, or similar areas would be suspect. If the site has a page rank of 0 and also has none of its interior pages indexed by Google, then it may have been penalized. You can tell how many of its pages are indexed by making this search: site:www.suspectsite.com .

3. Link to those sites that cater to your target audience.

In the early days of the Internet, the main incentive to link was that it would provide you with some targeted traffic. This concept is still valid. If you have a site about yoga, then find sites whose visitors would likely be interested in yoga and propose a link exchange with them. You may or may not raise your page rank with this exchange, but you will get the kind of visitors that you are looking for.

4. Get One-Way Non Reciprocal Links

There are two primary ways to get these valuable one-way links. The first way is to make your site so informative, so useful, so authoritative, that people will mention it or list it without you having to do anything at all. This is of course not an easy task, but it should be a target. You should strive to be the best in your field and if you can approach this goal then you will be noticed and you will get links without even asking for them.

Another way to get one-way links is to write articles and get them published on other websites. You are probably an “expert” in the field covered by your website. Share your expertise with others in the form of 600-800 word articles. You can distribute your articles in the article distribution groups of Yahoo! Go to http://groups.yahoo.com and make a search for article publishing or free reprint articles and you will find a number of places where you can place your article. Remember to include a link back to your site in the resource box at the end of the article.

So, don’t press the panic button. Keep your link and resource directories but build them up in a way that adds value to your site and helps you to get an extra flow of targeted traffic. If you have the skill to get non-reciprocal links, then by all means get them.

Invite Questions to Boost Your Sales

December 30th, 2007

Do you invite your prospective customers to ask questions …or do you try to avoid getting questions from them? You’re walking away from a lot of easy sales if you don’t encourage prospects to ask questions.

1. Prospects Who Ask Questions Are Usually Ready To Buy

Prospective customers who take the time to ask questions usually have a high level of interest in your product or service. By asking questions they identify themselves as likely buyers.

A prompt and complete answer to their question along with a gentle reminder of the benefits they will get is usually all it takes to close the sale.

Tip: Make it easy for prospects to ask questions when they are at your web site or in other selling situations where there is no personal contact. For example, list your phone number or an email address they can use for questions.

2. Set up A Procedure for Managing Questions

Answering questions from prospects does not have to take a lot of your time. Many of the same questions will be repeated over and over again. But you only have to answer each question once …if you save the answer to each question to a permanent file.

Every time you get the same question again, just copy the answer from your saved file into your reply - and customize it appropriately. You will be able to answer questions quickly. And you will impress prospects with your promptness and personal attention.

3. Always Reply Promptly

Answer questions promptly. Your prospect’s level of interest and your chances of getting the sale will decline as time passes without a reply. Prospects are also likely to judge your commitment to serving customers by how long they waited to get the answer to their question.

Tip: If you find yourself personally answering a lot of questions, add a Questions and Answers page to your web site - or to your printed sales material. Include the answers to your most frequently asked questions. This reduces the number of questions you have to answer individually.

4. Take Advantage of the Selling Opportunity

People tend to pay close attention to what you say when you answer a specific question they asked. Take advantage of this. Don’t just answer their question. Include a reason for them to buy as part of your answer.

For example, a typical question may be whether or not your product or service applies to the questioner’s situation. If it does, expand your answer to remind them of the specific benefits they will get. Then tell them exactly how to order it so they can get those benefits immediately.

Remember, prospective customers who ask questions are usually close to buying. A gentle nudge from you will often get them to take action. Provide that nudge when you answer their question.

Many businesses try to avoid questions from their prospects and customers. They are making an expensive mistake. Answering questions from prospects and customers is a highly effective and very low-cost way to boost sales.

How To Write A Research Paper

December 29th, 2007

Introduction

Writing skills are essential for succeeding in high school, college, and at a job. Writing is not just an end result, but also a process that helps us develop our ideas and think logically. Begin by brainstorming topics, collecting information, taking a lot of notes, and asking a lot of questions. Keep your notes and sources organized as you go.

When developing a topic, one should look for patterns and relationships, try to draw conclusions, try discussing one’s ideas with classmates, teachers and parents. A new os diffrent perspective can help shake up ones thinking.

How to get Started

The first step towards writing a quality research paper is to organize what is to be written. It is always nice to develop an outline to help to stay on track as we write, identifying the main points and what is to be the conclusion. The introduction should give your reader an idea of the essay’s intent, including a basic statement of what the essay will discuss. One should always keep the basic outline of a simple easy first and follow it , further changes can be made as required but the basic layout is followed always. The following are the parts of the basic layout of an essay or a research paper:

-The Introduction
-The Body
-The Conclusion

The introduction should give the reader an idea of the essay’s or papers intent, including a basic statement of what the essay will discuss. The body presents the evidence that supports the writers idea. Here concrete examples should be used and generalities should be avoided as much as possible. The conclusion should summarize and make sense of the evidence presented by the writer in the body (The Keys to Effective Writing, 2005).

These are the steps to be followed before writing any kind of paper or essay. After these basic guidelines are followed ammendments can be made according to the nature of the research paper and according to the different writing styles. Writing College research papers

College courses demand many different kinds of writing that employ a variety of strategies for different audiences. During college, it may be required to write long essays or short answers in response to examination questions or one may be asked to keep a journal, write a lab report, and document the process one uses to perform research. College writing or writing college research papers, also called academic writing, is assigned to teach the critical thinking and writing skills needed to communicate in classes and in the workplace. The quality of one’s writing depends on the quality of the thinking one does about his topic or his assignment.

The whole writing process is divided into three steps namely prewriting, writing, and rewriting or revising phases.

-Prewriting: In the prewriting phase one ponders over the questions like what he has to write about, what are his feelings about the topic to be written, how is the topic to be approached, how to organize the materials and the audience who will be reading the paper.

-Writing: In this phase the plan is implemented by working out the details and fine-tuning thoughts.

-Rewriting: In the phase of rewriting or revising, the material or paper written is reviewed and techniques to for improving it are applied.

During these steps, there are some phases, which also take place before the final draft of the research paper is ready. The first phase would be understanding the assignment or research topic, which has been explained as prewriting earlier. Understanding the assignment or the research topic includes thinking over the fact that what kind of research topic it is and what is the main purpose of the research topic. Then in this context comes the issue of using systematic techniques such as the use of classic strategies, these strategies are ways to develop or organize a research paper, these include definition, division and classification, comparison and contrast, cause and effect, and process analysis.

Another important factor is looking at the topic from a multiple perspective, when a topic is viewed from multiple points of view; relationships which have not occurred before are visible. This approach invites the writer to look at the topic as an entity, as a process or a part of a process, and as a system or part of a system (The Writing Process, 2005).

Doing exploratory research is included here with the prewriting techniques because library research often is a way to generate ideas. As we review the literature on a subject or read in a particular area, we may note ideas that will help us get started with the writing. Analysis, the basis of many other strategies, is the process of breaking something into its parts and putting the parts back together so that one can better understand the whole. When we focus on understanding something better by comparing and contrasting it to something else, we identify and analyze the similarities and differences. Synthesizing information, all the opinions and research in support of the thesis or research paper are incorporated together. The relevant facts, statistics, expert opinion, and whatever can directly be observed with your own opinion and conclusions to persuade the audience that the thesis is correct is integrated. Synthesis is used in supporting the thesis and assembling the paper. In applying the strategy of evaluation after synthesis, first, the criteria to be used to evaluate the subject will be established and then applied to the specific parts of the subject that is being judged, and conclusions would be drawn that whether it meets the criteria.

The final draft is what we hand in as the completed paper. Before turning in the final draft, we should read what we have written all the way through at least once more. a black pen on the final paper. Choppy sentences, poor or nonexistent transitions between paragraphs, grammar and spelling errors, and other characteristics of a first draft should all disappear

Managing Stress in a Hurricane

December 29th, 2007

I live in South Florida and at the end
of October, we got hit by a hurricane named Wilma.
For close to two weeks we had to deal with power
outages, long lines at the gas stations, bare
groceries stores’ shelves and many other
inconveniences that can create stress. In this issue
we will discuss stress and how not to let it run our
lives.

Stress is any environmental changes that cause our
bodies physical or mental tension. Stress is always
viewed in a bad light, but stress sometimes can be
good for us. In moderation stress keeps up alive by
alerting us and keeping us out of danger. Prolonged
stress is what we need to avoid. Prolonged stress
causes our body to breakdown and starts to create
illnesses such as high blood pressure, headaches etc..

Identifying what causes stress in your life is very
individualized. Stress is whatever that cause us to
adjust to our environment. Since each of us adjust
differently to changes, stressors are different for
each person. The following is a list of common
stressor:

  • Debt (or money problem)
  • Loss of a loved one
  • Marriage or divorce
  • Traffic problems
  • Long Lines for FEMA
  • Long lines for gas and ice
  • Legal Problems
  • New Job
  • Deadlines

These are but generalizations, take a few minutes
and jot down what causes you stress in your life.

How we respond to stress is as individualized as what causes us stress. Different people have different emotional, physical and behavioral responses to stress. Below are some warning signs that you may be stressed out:

Emotional warning signs of stress include:

  • Anger
  • Inability to concentrate
  • Unproductive worry
  • Sadness
  • Frequent mood swings

Physical warning signs of stress include:

  • Sweaty palms
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Weight gain or loss

Behavioral warning signs of stress include:

  • Over-reacting
  • Acting on impulse
  • Using alcohol or drugs
  • Withdrawing from relationships
  • Changing jobs often
  • Changes in eating pattern (overeating or undereating)

Now that you know what causes you stress and how you respond to it, you can now cope with the stress by applying these few tips:

  • Lower your expectations; accept that there are events you cannot control (during those long lines for gas, I played a CD by Outkast, Hey Ya really loud and I was dancing to it, driving around looking for gas and guess what? The stress was gone and I found gas and no lines!)
  • Ask others to help or assist you
  • Take responsibility for the situation
  • Engage in problem solving
  • Maintain emotionally supportive relationships
  • Directly attempt to change the source of stress
  • Distance yourself from the source of stress
  • Learn to relax by doing breathing exercises, yoga, listening to soothing music etc.
  • Eat and drink sensibly
  • Stop smoking or other bad habits
  • Exercise regularly
  • Maintain a healthy sense of self-esteem

Notice that none of the coping mechanisms include pharmaceuticals. You cannot cope with stress by medicating it; the medications will only take care of the physical symptoms; however, the source of stress is still there and you have not coped with it.

There are some homeopathic products that can help the body in its response to stress. To help with insomnia caused by stress there is Hyland’s Calm Forte and Rescue Remedy. Both products can be found at http://www.TheNaturalHealingPlace.com

This hurricane season thought me to beat stress by being prepared:

  • Have non-perishable around
  • Get canisters of gas before the hurricane, preferably enough to fill a tank. Then you don’t have to deal with the long lines. Believe it or not, the gas stations had gas, but no power to pump the gas.
  • Have a gas grill around, one that includes a stove to cook the perishables before they spoil
  • Get a generator; that was the one commodity that we needed
  • Get on an handiman or contrator’s list so that you can have someone to do the repairs after the hurricane.
  • If the hurricane is a category 2 or above, if you are able, get out of town and be somewhere safe. You can always rebuild a house, but you cannot rebuild your life.

Managing stress includes recognizing the stressors; knowing how we react to the stress and finally coping with it.

The Source of “True Marriage Healing”

December 28th, 2007

The source of “true marriage healing” lies within the spiritual aspects of who we are. How do I know this? Because I’ve been to marriage counseling, and I have read all the self-help marriage books, and because, I did all the things “they say” that are supposed to help you love who you married. But the reality of it is folks, there is no magic pill or potion you can take, and there is no person, besides you, that is going to heal your marriage as it is meant to be healed.

He said, she said scenarios don’t work, and neither will finger pointing and blaming one another. We can brow beat our spouse until we are blue in the face, and we can continue to have affairs just because our marriage is on rocky times, and we can listen to strangers tell us how to save our marriage, but I’ll tell you what, it will not make us better people inside, so what good is all that for our marriage?

What we want and need for marriage is to be the person God intended for us to be so we can have a better marriage. A man and a woman marriage relationship is the four legs that support the marriage, and what you believe for your marriage is the root of how good or bad the marriage actually will be.

If you want to be a healthier person spiritually, and even mentally, you need to enhance the spiritual side of who you are so you can grow into the loving individual God wants you to become, which is the whole and complete person you truly can be! We all have certain issues in our lives that hold us back from attaining the spiritualism that I am talking about. What is holding you back? That is the question?

In my book, Journey on the Roads Less Traveled, I reveal what held me back. It is my personal testimony of dealing with alcohol addiction and how it stunted my mental and spiritual growth process, and kept me from loving others and myself properly. I was up there on cloud nine most of the early years of my marriage. I eventually came down off that cloud and grew up.

It is MY firm belief that to heal marriage according to how marriage is to be divinely inspired and healed, we need to fix ourselves FIRST! I don’t care what some of the self-help books say, I just know this to be true because I’ve been there! If our marriage isn’t good, we need to seek out the resources from the source that is going to actually do something constructive for the marriage, right?

Man himself can set forth a standard for you to follow based on beliefs of society and they may all seem so good and right but if they do not come from God what use are they, really? Most man-made principles come from God but have been twisted to fit into the standards of society, which can sound good and right. This takes great discernment on your part. What is right and wrong? How can you tell? Don’t let the world fool you; don’t let people fool you into believing what your ears want to hear. Look for the fruit. If there isn’t any, then what good is that?

“He who tends a fig tree will eat its fruit” Proverbs 27:18. And in the same concept, “He who tends “himself” will eat its fruits in marriage, and whatever else he embarks on in his life.

If you originate from God, why are you looking to a mere stranger to heal your marriage troubles? God has told us what he wants for us to do for our marriage, but no one is following these precepts, not even those who call themselves Christian’s. If you are sinning against the marriage in any way, how can you really expect the standards of society to save you from yourself? Society isn’t going to tell you that being unfaithful is wrong, just as it won’t tell you what is good and right for your marriage.

Society created the things that are tempting to us and wrong for our marriage. Immoral behavior and imagery is shoved into our face every single day and everywhere! God desperately wants us to put on His shield of armor and He will protect us from the evils of the outside world. This is precisely why we need to fix our self FIRST before we can fix anything with marriage! We do this by letting God lead us not into temptation of society, but instead deliver us from all the evils of society!

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full body armor (figuratively speaking) of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” [Ephesians 6:10-13]

We ought not to stand proud in our sin, but rather put our head down low, and stand humbly before God ready to give our sin(s) to Him. Now, I certainly don’t know everything there is to know about the mysteries of God, and, like many of you, I am learning something new about the world around me every single day. Not a day goes by that God doesn’t somehow and in some way reveal to me something new to share with others.

I have dealt with personally many of the issues most marriages go through in a lifetime, and sometimes my marriage was a living nightmare. But I grew out and away from what was holding me back, and I managed to heal my marriage with the help of biblical principles. I didn’t learn how to be happy and content with myself by going to a therapist or a marriage counselor. And I knew that I couldn’t fix my marriage until I fixed myself first. I had to stop drinking, and start to be aware of who I was as a person and where I was in relation to being that person.

What is my purpose? Who am I? Well, I am a child of God. Well then, if I am a child of God, then my source for comfort, happiness and marriage healing lies then in the seed God planted in my heart, which needs only to sprout and grow. Will the seed planted in my heart grow if I go outside of God’s boundaries for the answers to my failings, and marriage troubles? No! I need to water the seed by staying within the boundaries of who I am.

One day I decided I wanted to understand what having spirituality in my life was all about, and eventually, I accepted Jesus Christ into my life. His Spirit, the Holy Spirit is a part of my life now. This is not something anyone can just hand over to you. Spirituality is something that you go after and attain on your own and it takes time and spiritual effort. Your relationship with God (Jesus Christ) is unique and special and unlike anyone else’s relationship with Him.

True Marriage Healing is not made in a week, or months, but is a gradual growth process that husband and wife make within himself or herself. No marriage will ever be restored until “each” spouse looks at what he can do to change himself. Once this is attained, then and only then, can the marriage begin to be transformed? The big change comes through when we know who we are and what our purpose is in life. When we feel like our life has purpose and meaning, then we can start applying that purpose into our lives.

Many couples when they feel like there is no value or importance attached to their life, that is when they may go outside the boundaries of Gods precepts and search for substance through the establishments of society. The main objective here is for couples to change the way they value themselves and marriage and to help the marriage to grow in positive ways.

Who are you? What is your purpose in life? The answers are where you begin your search for the true source of marriage healing.

Is Pay Per Click Advertising For You?

December 28th, 2007

Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising, which is also known as pay per performance or paid search, remains one of the quickest and direct ways of promoting your business, and driving targeted traffic to your website.

While it would be nice to achieve high natural (free) search engine rankings; organic rankings do take some time to take effect. And, with tens of thousands of website owners all competing for the same keyword search term, it’s a challenging prospect (and quite a rare one) to achieve top spot rankings for a popular search term, based solely on organic SEO.

How Does Pay-Per-Click Advertising Work?

PPC is simple really. Search engines like Google make their money by selling advertising space to website owners, and is generally the space you see running down the right hand side of the search results page, and across the top of the page; highlighted in blue. To get your website listed here, you have to pay, or bid against competitors for keywords; however you only actually pay the search engine each time a visitor clicks through to your website from the search engine. This is basically what Pay Per Click advertising is.

It is worth noting that you will only ever pay up to the maximum bid you place for each search term; generally speaking the higher you bid for a keyword, the more likely you are to appear highly in the search results. In addition, within Google, the position of your Ad will depend on its “Quality Score” (calculated from many factors), this reflects how relevant the Ad is to the search term. So in other words, by establishing a good quality score, you can move up the search listings paying a fraction of the price you would have otherwise. This is one of the reasons good management of keywords is essential.

The main benefit of Pay Per Click advertising, compared to relying solely on organic SEO, is that PPC ads can be live in a matter of minutes. With your website up and running, and armed with a credit card, you’re on your way to advertising on the web’s top search engines in no time. The key perk is that you control the budget.

PPC Advertising Programs: Google AdWords & Overture

There are two major pay-per-click advertising programs; Google AdWords and Overture (owned by Yahoo). Both services aim to deliver targeted, quality traffic from its own search engines and quality partner sites, and have recently introduced a number of beneficial features such as profit tracking and ‘return on ad-spend’ statistical features- very beneficial for those of you who don’t have your own e-commerce team.

Google Adwords is possibly the most popular service, one of the main reasons being that Overture has confused many of its advertisers and prospective customers by renaming its products numerous times.

Self Managed PPC Campaigns or SEO Consultants?

Many advertisers have problems converting click-through’s into sales, and others have no difficulties at all. A major factor contributing to the amount of profit your PPC campaign makes, is how well it is managed.

To produce profitable click-through’s you must be able to select and bid on the right, and relevant keywords that target your potential customer. Some keywords have extremely high bidding prices, so you need to be able to recognize if it is really going to be profitable to compete at such a high price. Will it not be just as profitable to bid a lot less and achieve a lower position?, say fourth place? Experienced PPC professionals are very talented in this field, and can ensure you get the most out of your advertising spend. So, if you’re not confident; a custom managed PPC campaign by an SEO professional is probably the best approach to take. Pay Per Click professionals also have mathematical modeling tools that can manage, and filter out keywords that are not performing.

The key to profitable Pay Per Click campaigns is targeting the right searcher, with the right keywords. Professionals in the field of SEO can invest the time and experience required to effectively manage PPC campaigns, in this now highly competitive, and forever changing arena.

With PPC advertising becoming eminently popular, and thus harder to manage, Tracey Simpson has wrote this article to help readers, and owners of e-retailer websites to understand the benefits of having their PPC campaign manged for them. 2. Interview an Expert

You sure know or easily can find some experts in your field that your target market knows and respects. They are usually people who have written books or articles about your topic.

These people know the answers to many questions your prospects have in mind and can show them how to solve their problems.

That’s why interviewing an expert is a powerful technique to create products which are both highly profitable and easy to create.

You can interview the experts by email or using phone, turn it into an ebook easily and then sell it for big profits.

If you interview them using via phone, you can also record your phone conversation and turn it into an audio course. Since audio products offer a higher perceived value, you can sell it at a higher price. Just make sure you ask for their permission to record your conversation.

You can also get someone to write the transcription so you can sell it as an ebook separately, or just as a bonus with your audio course.

A good example of someone who has used this technique successfully is Neil Shearing. As you may know, he’s a well-known Internet marketing expert.

He has created an ebook called “Internet Success Diamonds” which is consisted of interviews with top, well-known Internet marketing gurus where they reveal their secrets to success. I happened to buy his book and found it really helpful.

3. Compile Templates and Samples

Who says you have to write all your ebooks word by word yourself?

After all, people buy an ebook because it shows them how to solve their problem and get what they want. So as long as your ebook is helpful to your target market, all the rest doesn’t matters.

By compiling templates, samples, articles, and other helpful information into an ebook, not only you’ll provide your target market with valuable information they want but you’ll also create your product much more easily and quickly.

6 Mistakes to Avoid When Choosing a Carpet Cleaner

December 28th, 2007

Congratulations on taking the first step to ensuring your satisfaction when choosing a Carpet Cleaning Professional!

More times than not, somebody looking for a company to professionally clean their carpets will make these 6 small, but devastating mistakes. If you want to avoid making any mistakes in your choice of carpet cleaning companies…please use this report as a reference guide.

MISTAKE #1: Choosing a Carpet Cleaner Based on Low Price

With all of the Wal-Marts, K-Marts and Costco’s around, many of us are naturally attracted to low price. The low price technique to draw in customers is great for product sales but not services for your home. When is the last time that you had extraordinary service from a Retail Savings outlet?

Many times, carpet cleaning companies will attract you with a low price only for you to be disappointed and trapped when you find that the price coming into your home of $29.95 for 3 rooms actually winds up becoming $200 or more if you want your carpets cleaned the correct way!

For a real life example of this mistake, please visit: www.carpet1st.com/savingyoumony.php

MISTAKE #2: Choosing a Cleaner that IS NOT CERTIFIED Through
the IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration
Certification)

Unfortunately, Carpet Cleaning is a non-regulated industry. You may ask, “How does this affect me?” Well the answer is….in every way! You obviously are looking for a professional cleaning company, therefore, you want to be sure that it is a professional that enters your front door.

If you where looking for a lawyer, would you choose me to defend or handle your suite?…Of course not!…I am not certified to be a lawyer, but you would hire me to clean your carpets because we are certified through the IICRC to do so.

By ensuring that the technician that walks through your door is certified, you can be rest assured that:

• The technician has been properly trained in how to clean your carpet the correct way

• The technician knows the difference between the various carpet fibers (there is a difference to how each carpet fiber needs to be cleaned!)

• The company takes extra care in cleaning your carpets by being certified in a non-regulated industry.

MISTAKE #3: Choosing a Cleaner That Subcontracts Their Work Out to Others.

For those of you who have experienced the “quality” of a subcontracted carpet cleaner…you know why this is a mistake. The fact is that there are a lot of cleaning companies out there that get your information, book the appointment, and then pay somebody between 20% and 50% to complete the work…sometimes out of the back of their car!

Many times, these subcontractors are not even covered by the minimum amount of liability insurance of $300,000!

I am not saying that you can not get good work out of somebody that has subcontracted work, but it sure does make all of the other mistakes explained here more likely to occur at the same time.

MISTAKE #4: Choosing a Cleaner that is NOT LISTED with the BBB

This mistake leads back to a previous statement…carpet cleaning is currently a non-regulated industry! This means that anybody can say that they are a carpet cleaning professional.

Although many consider this as a self-explanatory step, many do not take their own advise! Be sure to check the BBB before doing business. If a cleaning company is not listed, be sure that you are checking within the area that the company is located in on the BBB website. If the company is still not listed…proceed at your own risk!

MISTAKE #5: Choosing a Cleaner that ONLY USES PORTABLE Cleaning Equipment

Portable cleaning equipment definitely has its place, in high rise apartment/condo buildings and areas that are farther than 200′ from the closest parking space, and for use in rotary shampooing processes.

Why is this?…Because if you are choosing to have your carpets professionally cleaned, the company should offer Truck Mounted Equipment!

Why is Truck Mounted equipment so important if you are looking to get your carpets cleaned? One word….POWER!

• Power in heating the water to over 212 degrees for true steam cleaning and not just hot water cleaning where the water is only as hot as your water heater will make it.

• Power in the vacuum. Vacuum units in Truck Mounted equipment are 10 times or more powerful than that of a portable unit. This will determine whether your carpeting will be dry within 6 to 8 hours or within 24 to 48 hours!

• Power in the PSI (Pressure Per Square Inch) of solution. This is important because different carpet fibers require differing PSI to be cleaned correctly! This also refers back to being certified through the IICRC as the carpet technician will know this fact if they are certified.

MISTAKE #6: Choosing a Cleaner that DOES NOT Offer a Money-Back Guarantee

If the company that you hire to clean your carpets does not offer a money back guarantee…you have to wonder, WHY?

If the company is so certain that they will perform an excellent job, why wouldn’t they guarantee it? The fact is that a money back guarantee will absolutely ensure that you receive the services that were explained to you.

Sure, if you are unsatisfied with a company’s workmanship, they deserve the chance to come back out and rectify the situation; however, what if you are still not satisfied? Are you out of luck?…or…Do they guarantee the work?
