Womens Flipflops - Stylish Footwear

November 8th, 2007

Flip flops aren’t what they used to be - and they aren’t just
for kids and men anymore either. Womens flipflops have come a
very long way in recent years. Womens flipflops are available in
a variety of styles, colors and designs, and they have become a
huge part of many women’s wardrobes.

Flip flops are even commonly seen in the work place these days!
The designs of flip flops have become so flattering that they
are now suitable to wear with dresses, skirts, slacks, and
jeans. Of course, flip flops and shorts will always go well
together! Flip flops come in a wide variety of styles and
designs. Some have heels, and some are flat. Some have the
traditional rubberized soles, while others are made of leather,
wood, plastic, and a huge variety of other types of materials.
When it comes to flip flops, anything goes, and all things are
possible!

Flip flops are very flattering when worn with Capri style pants.
In fact, it seems that the Capri style pants are what made flip
flops more attractive to women. Designers were forced to sit up
and take notice. They finally realized that women will not be
content with the same old - ugly - style flip flops that were
available for years in a one-size, one-style fits all fashion.
Today, women want their footwear - even their flip flops - to be
fashionable and stylish - and designers have answered that
demand!

Many famous designers now have flip flop designs out on the
market, and there are shoe companies that specialize only in
flip flop sandals. Because each woman has an intricate style of
her own, many of them even decorate their flip flops to make
them even more stylish and unique.

Flip flops are not as cheap as they once were either. Of course,
you can still find the old style of flip flops and purchase a
pair of those for less than three bucks, but the more stylish -
cute - flip flops cost quite a bit more. Some women even pay
upwards of $100 for a pair of flip flops - and flip flops by
famous designers go even higher!

Aside from the overall appearance of the shoe, many flip flop
designers have taken more of an interest in comfort and support
when it comes to flip flop designs as well. There are many
styles of flip flops on the market today that feature arch
support. The thong that goes between the toes is often made of
the softest leather to keep the material from rubbing blisters
between the toes as well. Comfort, support, fit, style, and
design are all factors when new flip flops are made today!

Fit is something that was never important in the past when it
came to flip flops. Women had a choice between small, medium,
large, and in some instances, even extra large. Today, quality
flip flops have actual shoe sizes so that women can get a better
- more comfortable fit. This is revolutionary in the flip flop
world - kids and men still have to settle for small, medium,
large, and extra large in most cases, and their choices are very
limited when it comes to flip flops.

Flip flops are seen everywhere you look - everyday. Women even
wear flip flops in the winter. They are easy to slid into to
step outside, or even to make a quick trip next door or to the
store. Many women even use flip flops as substitutes for house
slippers - because they are comfortable, and they serve the
purpose without making a woman’s feet too warm.

We expect the flip flop to evolve even more in the future. The
renewed interest that women have shown in these types of shoes
will ultimately drive designers and manufacturers to give women
even more of what they want - before the competition does. We
definitely haven’t seen the last changes in womens flipflops!
Keep an eye on the flip flop section at your favorite shoe store
to see what the designers have in mind for us next!

Look Slimmer With These Easy Tips

November 5th, 2007

Just about every woman’s weight fluctuates at least a little
bit. As we age our bodies can also change shape. These changes
are a result of many things – child birth, stress, menopause,
additional pounds, or loss of weight. The reality is, that the
world can’t have a all size 5 women.

If we are a size 3, it seems we want to be a size 9 so we have a
fuller looking figure. If we are a size 9 we want to be a size
5. There’s just no making women happy. Add the media blitz on
the perfect body, it seems we are always feeling inadequate.

Not to worry, it’s quite easy to make yourself look a few pounds
lighter, or to accent your finer points and hide your not so
perfect body parts. There are also things you can do to make a
small frame look a little larger.

Just because you’ve gained a couple of extra pounds, you don’t
have to go looking for a moo moo to wear. Accentuating your
finer points is easier than you think. When you accent your good
points, the not so good ones fade into the background.

Use illusion to make yourself look two or three sizes smaller.
Choosing clothing to suit your shape, skin color, and lifestyle
can cut your wardrobe spending in half. Think about all the
things you can do with that extra money – buy more jewelry, or
how about some new pairs of shoes. After all us women can never
have enough of jewelry or shoes.

The average woman wears 25% of her wardrobe 85% of the time. So
what happens to the rest of those wardrobe items. Well they hang
in the closet gathering dust until they come back in fashion 10
or 15 years from now.

Because fashion changes so quickly, there is no point in
stocking up on most wardrobe items. Yes, there are the basics
that never go out of style such as classic black or white pants,
dresses, and skirts. Traditional blazers and tops. But the rest
of those wardrobe items will most likely be out of style in less
than a year.

So if you’re not going to wear it “right now” this “season,
leave it at the store. Even when an items on sale, it’s only a
deal if your actually going to wear it.

Here’s some tips to help you dress to look thinner:

Dark colors – black, navy, burgundy, dark blue, and gray
are thinning Use one color in various shades from head
to toe Avoid large patterns and horizontal stripes.
Vertical stripes are okay as long as they aren’t too big.
Don’t use loose fitting clothing. Contrary to popular
belief they don’t make you look thinner. As well avoid bulky
sweaters. Use belts, accessories, and jewelry to draw
attention away from your troubled spots. Use flat cut
pants and skirts, as well as low rise pants Wear skirts
that fall just below the knees for longer looking legs
Avoid shiny fabrics, velvets, and velours If you
are large busted wear a full figure, well fitting bra
Heel will add height and shape your legs Dark
panty hose will thin your legs Wear shirts that’s fall
below the waist. Avoid shirts that tuck in. Asymmetrical
or tiered skirts will make your legs appear thinner and longer
Wear a fitted blazer Use your hair and makeup to
draw attention to your face

So don’t worry if your weight fluctuates or you put on a few
extra pounds, don’t fret. Use these tips to make yourself look a
little slimmer. Remember fashion is all about you! And being
comfortable with who you are! Big or small your wardrobe,
makeup, hair, and jewelry can make a fashion statement that
won’t go unnoticed.

Women and Insecurity

November 2nd, 2007

Women and Insecurity

Competition can be friendly and fun as opposed to back-stabbing
and cruel. You do not have to deceive others for your light to
shine. We all have different talents and abilities, in which
makes us unique as women. So why are you trying to be like the
women that you are competing against? Because you envy them and
you are an insecure woman.

Insecure women have very low self-esteem, no self-confidence,
and can’t even begin to think self-awareness, resulting in cruel
remarks and judgement of other women that they don’t even know.
You see, if you were so secure with yourself, you probably would
have given a compliment instead of “She thinks she is all of
that.” You really thought she was all of that, or you wouldn’t
have made the comment in the first place. Insecure women have no
identity and want so desperately to find one so they seek out
the confident woman and mimic her every move, her mannerisms,
and her style and in the same turn, always making negative
remarks about her. Instead of wasting all of your insecure
energies on trying to cause discomfort in the confident woman’s
life, why don’t you invest positive energies into improving your
own.

Confident women are confident because they believe in themselves
and their abilities. They know what they are worth and no one
can tell them different. They didn’t get this way by sleeping
with the boss or deceiving others. They earned this confidence
because of the struggles in their past, the perseverance in
their present, and the contentment in their futures.

If you are an insecure woman and you are reading this
article…..Get It Together! Stop trying to strip women of their
confidence by digging your self-esteem further and deeper into
the ground. Work on yourself, build your confidence and become
self-aware. This way, there’ll be no need to envy what another
woman has because you’ll be satisfied with what you already have.

Spring is coming … Easter is coming. I think of my Mom’s potato
salad, dying eggs with my children, the years our bird dog spent
all Easter morning ‘pointing’ the eggs we’d hidden Al fresco
brunches with fresh strawberry crepes which later gave way to
dining rooms formalities of lamb roast with mint jelly, and
fresh asparagus, then evolving back to ham, potato salad and
deviled eggs, like my Mom. The years my sons and I celebrated in
the Florida Keys, now celebrating with my son’s in-laws,
grilling out in the back yard. Religious services, spring
bonnets, orchid corsages and Easter lilies. Customs particular
to South Texas – bluebonnets and Indian paintbrushes along the
highway, cascarones and Fiesta, and finally, PEEPS®!

TRADITIONS

Traditions are what give our life stability and meaning and keep
us in the rhythm of life. They give us something to look forward
to, something to count on, and something to change when we want
to, move, or add new family members! Traditions can always be
changed or re-created. In fact, many of our transitions in life
involve redoing traditions. EASTER/SPRING

Some of us will celebrate Easter as a religious holiday, others
as a secular celebration. It’s simply in our blood to rejoice in
the springtime. Easter began when the ancient Saxons celebrated
the return of spring with a festival in honor of Eastre, their
goddess of fertility and spring. Her symbol was the rabbit! It’s
the custom in most cultures to celebrate the vernal equinox with
various symbols of fertility and rebirth, such as rabbits and
eggs!

Easter is the first Sunday following the first full moon, which
falls on or after the vernal equinox, March 21st. There it falls
between March 22nd and April 25th.

CASCARONES?

Is it (a) a waterfall in Northern Mexico, (b)a rare species of
Easter orchid, (c)a large South American rodent, or (d) none of
the above.

The answer is d.

Cascarones are hollowed-out eggshells filled with confetti. The
tradition in the Southwest and Mexico is to crack them over your
friends’ heads, and the person with the most confetti in their
hair is the most loved!

Check out this great cascarones tutorial:
http://www.epicurious.com/e_eating/e04_easter/cooking_class.html
.

Each year in April, San Antonio puts on FIESTA, which sometimes
coincides with Easter – weeks of festivities. Roadside vendors,
grocery stores and upscale boutique sell cascarones. I used to
mail them to my son when he was in college in Seattle, and
wondered what the Washingtonians would think.

It’s believed Marco Polo brought them to Mexico. You can order
yours here, just $5.50:
http://www.latinworksco.com/cascarones.html .

EASTER LILIES

The Easter Lily originated in Japan, but today, 95% of the bulbs
used for the potted Easter Lilies we give, and receive, come
from 10 farms along the California/Oregon border. They’re grown
in various other places, including Michigan. Did you know
growers can count the leaves to determine when the plants will
flower? Is there anything more fragrant?

CHOCOLATE

I eagerly await the annual spring ballotin from Lady Godiva:
http://www.godiva.com/welcome.asp . Is the chocolate bunny more
your speed? http://www.chocolatevault.com/easterbunworks.htm has
chocolate bunnies, lambs, crosses, hens, roosters, loloes,
Easter cards, you name it!

PEEPS® 50 Years of Divine Madness

Some year along the way, “Peeps®” became a part of our Easter
tradition. They’re aren’t in the house, we don’t eat them, but
they’re v. much a part of the experience. And this year it’s the
50th anniversary of Peeps®.

The “San Francisco Chronicle” noted that over 600 million of
these little marshmallow things will be produced, riding on a
wave of “kitsch and nostalgia drawn from two influential
demographic pools.”

True in my household! I, the Baby Boomer, include them in
baskets because that’s what my parents did; my son, the
Generation Xer, joins his peers in investigating all that a
Peep® is, and all a Peep® can be.

Among the many mouth-watering recipes for Peeps® is Blue Peep®
Pie which calls for blue gelatin, Caracao, and 15 blue Peeps®.
“Snip apart each family of Peeps®,” it says. “Arrange in
concentric circles atop pie filling. Use fresh blueberries to
fill in gaps between Peeps®.” Full recipe is here:
http://recipes.alastra.com/holidays/blue-peep-pie.txt . WHAT CAN
YOU DO BESIDES EAT A PEEP®?

“I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s tried toasting peep!”
writes a list member of Gail’s Recipe Swap Archive. “I recently
toasted some over a gas stove burner and got pretty good
results. The key is to blow them out immediately when they catch
on fire…”

“Creative alternative uses” are listed on
http://www.epicurious.com : “Pre-Easter fresh Peeps® can be
moistened in punch cups and then used around the kitchen window
as cheery caulking. You can color coordinate this with your
kitchen.”

Eat your heart out, Martha!

Various forms of Peeps® abuse also take place and are noted on
the Internet: April Showers is here:
http://www.marks.networktel.net/main.html .

Gen Xers may be seeking a Peeps® screensaver:
http://www.marshmallowpeeps.com/about/screensaver.html or to
send a Peeps ® ecard:
http://www.marshmallowpeeps.com/about/screensaver.html .

Created by Just Born, Inc., they’ve been joined by Peeps®
Marshmallow Jelly Beans. You’ll understand the “creative
alternative uses” for Peeps®’ when I report that tasters at
epicurious.com “found the marshmallow-fruit combo overwhelmingly
sweet. Comparisons were made to Pledge® wood cleaner, bad bubble
gum, and lavender soap.”

Wait a minute. Does that mean someone knows what Pledge® wood
cleaner tastes like?

NOW VISITING A LOCATION NEAR YOU: The Peep® Fun Bus

It’s coming to San Antonio, April 14-20! To find out when it’s
coming your way, go here:
http://www.marshmallowpeeps.com/50_anniversary/fun_bus.html , or
call the hotline: 1-866-270-9638. You can even request it for
your special event or festival.

Heck, that’s worth creating a festival for!

Q&A

Q: What do you have to do to get a year’s supply of Peeps®? A:
Win the Easter basket contest:
http://www.marshmallowpeeps.com/50_anniversary/contest.html

Q: What’s a “year’s supply” of Peeps®? A: 365 packages.

Q: What do the contest losers get? A: 2 years’ supply of Peeps.
j.k.

WHAT TO SERVE ALONG WITH YOUR PEEPS® FOR EASTER DINNER?

Will it be ham or lamb? Go here to cast your vote:
http://epi.advance.net/forums/hamorlamb/ In south Texas, it’s
customary to cook out. The parks are full. Not having done this
myself, I don’t know for sure, but I think neither ham NOR lamb
is involved.

I think I’ll revert to haute cuisine this year. Rack of Lamb
with Spinach Pine-Cut Crust and Minted pea Sauce,
Hibiscus-Marinated Leg of Lamb (featuring dried nontoxic and
organic hibiscus flowers, Red Zinger tea, garlic, olive oil, red
current jelly), Lavender Crème-Caramel Tart, Asparagus Napoleons
with Oriental Black Bean Sauce, Hot Cross Buns … ahhh …. sounds
well worth the effort to me. Visit:
http://www.epicurious.com/e_eating/e04_easter/eastermenu.html
for the menus. Or you may wish to have a Vegan Easter. Go here

YES, HERE COMES PETER COTTONTAIL –

And last, but not least, the songs from our childhood. “Here
comes Peter Cottontail, hoppin’ down the bunny trail, hippity

Oh My God A Girl!

October 27th, 2007

Word Count: 810

Oh My God A Girl!

“OH MY GOD A GIRL!!” This was the cry I was met with when I
arrived to meet our group for a 5 day canoe trip down New
Zealand’s Wanganui River. “Are you sure you know what you’re
doing?!” a wary fellow in his 50’s exclaimed. I assured him that
since I knew a heck of a lot more than he did it was in his best
interest to stick with me. The rest of the group, a collection
of 10 men and women from New Zealand, looked on with some
amusement and guarded concern. This fellow had voiced what many
of them had inwardly felt when they discovered that their guides
were ‘girls’. Some had assumed that Sue, a nursing student in
her mid twenties, and I, a ‘Yank’ only a bit older, were the
greeting committee. I suspect many hoped at best we were the
cooks and at worst that we were driving the bus. Discovering
that they were heading out for an adventure under the guidance
and protection of two young women was not what they had imagined
when signing on for the 80 kilometer paddle through one of New
Zealand’s newest river parks.

This immediate shock upon discovering that they are trusting
their lives and limbs to a ‘girl’ is something I have become
used to when meeting groups of clients for the first time.
Working as a white water raft guide in the United States I have
seen the covert glances as the names of guides are called out
for each group of paddlers: “The Taylor party, your guide will
be Rich.” “The McKenna party your guide will be Kevin.” “The
Kelly party, your guide will be Debbie.” You can almost hear the
collective gulp.

The men in the United States are rarely so blunt as to come
right out and ask me if I know what I’m doing, but they are not
alone in their concern. The women often share their uncertainty
as to whether they can put their faith in a female guide. It
doesn’t take long before I’m asked, “So… how long have you
been doing this?” To which my standard response is to look at my
watch and reply “Oh, since about 8 this morning,” hoping a bit
of levity will calm people’s nerves.

Sometimes knowing that I’ve been guiding for 10 years helps
allay fears, in other cases it’s not until we have made it down
the last rapid, loaded the boats and are safely ensconced back
on the bus (which I may also drive, prompting someone to worry
aloud about ‘women drivers’) that my crew sighs with the relief
of having survived not only the river, but me.

Leadership styles vary from person to person. It is difficult
and perhaps dangerous to generalize the variations according to
gender, but the fact remains that men continue to be central
figures of authority in most of our lives. While many of us have
strong female role models, the heroes of young Americans are
typically male sports figures and action film stars. There are
fewer ‘scripts’ for women assuming leadership positions commonly
held by men.

Fortunately my experience has been that it is not employers and
co-workers who are resistant to seeing women in leadership
roles. Quality tour and guiding companies know that good
judgment, experience and attitude play a greater role in hiring
a leader then does gender. Instead it is the clients, the men
and women who arrive nervous and excited to experience an
adventure, whether it’s on a rock, in the mountains or on a
river, who have envisioned a strong, fearless leader who does
not have breasts.

I led my first trip for a group of women 20 years ago. Today I
organize and lead trips for women over 40. Along with being
great fun, these exclusive groups allow women the unique
opportunity to see other women in positions of power and
control, to witness a group of women working out problems and
dealing with the host of challenges encountered on a river trip
or while traveling abroad.

By supporting each other and being open to seeing women in
leadership roles women help each other to succeed and achieve
more than they thought possible. As more and more women become
visible in outdoor recreation and leadership I suspect the day
isn’t too far off when we’re met with the exclamation “OH GREAT,
A WOMAN!” As for the fellow on the canoe trip in New Zealand; I
had to rescue him and his canoe after he flipped in the first
rapid, but it wasn’t until I barbecued a perfect medium rare
steak that he was truly impressed. Go figure.

Beat Erectile Dysfunction

September 24th, 2007

Sexual health problems are never easy to talk about, but they are a whole lot tougher to live with. A healthy and fulfilling sex life is mandatory for a content existence. It is a very important part of the cement that holds a relationship together; in fact, it adds the spark that any great relationship needs. However, too often, men keep quiet about their sexual problems, leading to embarrassment and frustration. This is rather futile because modern medicine has made many conditions curable.

One such condition is Erectile Dysfunction. The consistent or frequent inability to achieve erection or sustain an erection is called Erectile Dysfunction, ED for short. Essentially, the rush of blood to the penis during arousal, which causes the penis to become turgid, is interrupted or insufficient. Many different reasons can cause Erectile Dysfunction. Many physiological conditions, neural or otherwise, psychological disorders, stress, etc are only some of the reasons. At times, it is a side effect to some medication.

At any rate, Erectile Dysfunction is treatable, and cane be completely cured in most cases. What is needed is to consult your doctor and confirm if you do suffer from Erectile Dysfunction. Once ED is confirmed, your physician may opt for among several treatment options. Depending on the cause of Erectile Dysfunction, medication, minor surgery, therapy or a combination of these could be the choice. It is important for the patient to have a complete understanding on his condition and treatment routine.

If medication is chosen, your physician will probably recommend a prescription PDE5 inhibitor. The most famous of these is the revolutionary pill from Pfizer called Viagra. Viagra, when it hit the markets, was a sensational success with consumers. And, with good cause. It revolutionized the treatment of Erectile Dysfunction. These drugs allow increased blood flow to the penis during arousal, leading to a successful and sustained erection. If your physician prescribes Viagra, you will want to find out where to buy Viagra. You can fill your prescription at any pharmacy with ease. However, if you are looking for a more cost-effective option, one that won’t strain your budget, then you’ll want to get on the Internet and look at online pharmacies. Online pharmacies are the perfect way to buy Viagra from the comfort of your home at a significantly lower price.

Erectile Dysfunction is curable; all you have to do is speak to your physician about it and asking if Viagra is right for you. Viagra may just be the perfect solution to your sexual problems.

Top Ten Ways about Sensing Your Body

September 22nd, 2007

Most of us spend time judging, criticizing and giving negative
messages to our body, which only results in suffering. As our
body is the main tool (mentor) to our expression in every day
life, it is essential to choose to be aware of it every moment,
and develop a loving relationship to it. In other words, make
your body your buddy.

1. Touching: Caress your buddy

The mood is tender and nurturing. Accept any defect
compassionately as you would a friend that has the same
challenge. Treat your buddy to a relaxing massage regularly.

2. Touch again: Romance your buddy

Serenade your buddy. Write love letters to your buddy. Offer
flowers to your buddy. Treat your buddy to exquisite chocolates
once in while. The soul of your buddy will be deeply touched by
all your thoughtful attentions.

3. Hearing: Communicate sweetly and softly

Listen to what your buddy is saying to you, and speak loving
words in return. Speak to others about your buddy in the 3rd
person. Ex: She likes wearing red… He loves to go on long walks…

4. Hear again: Be a good a provider

Treat your buddy to what s/he desires and requires, medical, and
holistic. Create money to take splendid care of your buddy. Give
your buddy adequate rest and sleep.

5. Seeing: Dress your buddy impeccably

Choose only the finest materials for your buddy and natural
fabrics like silk, cotton or linen. Give it an environment that
is clean, comfortable, neat and pleasant.

6. See again: Consider it as a work of art. Beauty lies in the
eyes of the beholder. What can you notice that you particularly
appreciate? Focus on that…

7. Smelling: Breathe your buddy in

Pamper your buddy with wonderful aromas, sandalwood and apple
pies, perfumes, incenses and essential oils

8. Smell again: Breathe your buddy out.

”Aerobicize” your buddy; move it, dance it, walk it, stretch it…
Rest it!

9. Tasting: Feed your buddy love

Give your buddy exactly what s/he is hungry for. What is the
special of the day? Serve it to your buddy as if s/he was the
most precious guest. Savor every bite with total abandon.

10. Taste again: Water your body as a rose.

Drink water throughout the day. Take long showers. Luxuriate in
bubble baths. Walk in between the raindrops.

The Truth About Hair Removal

September 17th, 2007

When hairs thrive on parts where it should not be seen, or when it creates an impression of hideousness according to the tenets of fashion and trend in the society,it becomes an absolute veto on its true sense.

For this reason, more and more people are engaging into cosmetic enhancements in order to correct, improve, or modify the inappropriateness of hair development in the body.

No wonder why most women would rather have silky, smooth legs and whiter armpits. Men, on the other hand, are also into hair removal based upon their interest like removing excessive growth of hair on the chest and on the face.

The Science of Hair Removal

The general term for hair removal is known as “depilation.” This refers to the removal of the unwanted hair that will impinge on the upper surface of the skin.

Generally, the most common process used in hair removal is shaving. This refers to the actual removal of hair using the razor. It is commonly used to remove hairs on the chest and on the face, for men; and on legs and underarms, for women.

However, the purpose of doing such act may vary. So for those who want to know the easons behind why different people have different purposes in hair removal, here is a list that will guide you in understanding the variations of purposes in hair removal:

1. Social purpose

There are people who despise other people that do not conform to the societal standards of ideal looks and appearance. Most of this aspect concerns the appearance of hair in parts where it should not be seen.

This is sometimes the main basis of both men and women when they constitute the epitome of beauty. Thus, for people who do not conform to the standards set by the society, they will be rejected, alienated, and will have difficulty in gaining social recognition.

2. Military-based purposes

People in the military are expected to shave their hair in the head. That is why most of the military people are semi-bald. This is their way of creating distinction and identity in the society.

3. Spiritual purpose

In some religious organizations, hair removal is usually done to signify “ordination.” It is one way of creating distinction upon classes. For instance, the “Brahmin children” would have their head shaved before they start schooling.

Tips

Whatever purpose each person has when removing hairs in their body, it is still important to use the proper tools and method so as to ensure hygiene, efficiency, and attractiveness.

Here is a list of some tips:

1. Use some wax if you want to remove hair underneath the area of the skin. It is effective if you are too busy to remove hair everyday. This is because waxing removes the inner shaft of the hair, which , in turn, prolongs the development of another new set of hair.

2. Always consult an expert when opting for more advance method of hair removal such as laser home removal and electrolysis. Engaging into these kinds of hair removal will create serious problems when performed by a non-expert.

3. When using wax for hair removal, it is best to use wax that is authentic. This is because only authentic wax strips and other materials used ion waxing will initiate effective hair removal.

Indeed, the concept of hair removal may vary from different purposes to different people. And engaging into such activity is not as easy as 1-2-3 because any wrong application, hair removal could do more harm than good.

So it is best to be wary of the methods and principles to be used in hair removal.

10 Situations where Men and Women Differ So Much!

Joke from a Woman to another Woman “Some husbands are living
proof that a woman can take a joke!”

Joke from a Man to another Man; “Men are Vain, They will check
themselves out in the mirror. However women are ridiculous; they
will check their reflections in any shiny surface, mirrors,
spoons, shop windows.”

Then why do YOU think women misunderstand men and vice-versa?
One basic fact of life. Women and men are different. I am not
talking about their physical attributes, but in their attitudes
to relationships.

I am a man, writing this article. I have tried to be fair, but
can I tell you ladies, I just can’t understand you most of the
time. But I am sure that most of you would answer, that you
can’t understand us men.

I have been guilty of most of the attitudes listed, especially
the shopping which I hate. Therefore to go a little way in
imparting some understanding, here are 10 situations where the
thinking of men and women go in opposite directions;

1) ANGER: When Anger or another problem enters a relationship A
woman will want to repair the situation or problem before any
sex.

A man will think that making love will make it all right again.

2)TOUCHING: For women touching without sex is comforting and
very soothing. They find that the touching gives a warm feeling
of security.

However for men touching without sex can easily be misunderstood
and he can even feel threatened.

Please understand that when men touch each other, it is in a
rough manner. They slap or punch each other on the back. Tender
touching makes many men feel vulnerable and dependent. These
have been seen by men to be un masculine.

Men find it uncomfortable with so much closeness. It makes them
feel vulnerable. However women are not comfortable without this
type of intimacy.

3) TELEPHONE: Men use the telephone or mobile phone as a
communication device. It is to send short messages to each
other.

However women see the telephone differently. They use it to keep
in touch with their friends supporting, helping and growing
relationships. They are more interested in people and feelings
than objects such as telephones and the latest video games.

4) SEX: When it comes to foreplay, women prefer 40-45 minutes of
foreplay. However men on the other hand prefer 40-45 seconds of
foreplay before sex

5) GOING OUT: When a man says he is ready to go out, it means he
is ready to go out. However when a woman says she is ready to go
out, it means she is ready, as soon as she finds her other piece
of jewellery and makes just one more phone call.

6) SHOPPING: Women can shop all day and enjoy the whole
experience. Its a chance to talk. They use talk to build and
sustain connections with others. However men just want finish
and close the situation. Its their nature. One can view this
difference anytime with couples in shopping malls.

7) BATHROOMS A man has on average around 5-6 items in his
bathroom. A woman on the other hand has over 200 items in her
bathroom. Make no attempt to ask a man to identify all these
items.
8) DRESSING UP: A woman will dress up to go shopping, gardening,
answer the phone, or get the post. A man will dress up for
weddings and funerals.

9) CHILDREN: A woman knows all about her children. She knows
about doctors and dentists appointments. All their friends,
their favorite and not so favorite foods, plus their secret
fears and their hopes and dreams.

Most men, though not as many as years ago, are aware of some
short people sharing the home.

10) TOYS: Little girls love to play with toys. Then when they
reach the age of approximately 12, they seem to lose the
interest.

However, men NEVER grow out of their obsession with toys. As
they get older, the toys simply get more expensive. One shopping
channel has a section called “Big Boys Toys”

In ending this article I would like to stress the points:

a) Not all women are alike b) Not all men are alike.

There have been great men and great women who have made this
world such a better place. No matter what sex you are I leave
you with this quote that applies to all of us
