Manifest Your Desires Using Natural Hypnosis

July 6th, 2008

Seth, the very high level, spiritual teacher and guide channeled many years ago by Jane Roberts, impressed me with his great wisdom and I started applying his exercises and concepts as soon as I discovered his books. One of the exercises I practiced and loved was his natural hypnosis exercise.

Seth explained how we are our best hypnotist. Natural hypnosis is simply giving ourselves our undivided attention. We have mind chatter anyway, repeating words and phrases over and over again, making it part of our belief system and reality. This is natural hypnosis, nothing mystical about it.

Using natural hypnosis deliberately to manifest what we want is easy to do. We already have much practice doing it unconsciously. Using positive affirmations repeated for a brief period of time is very powerful and works exceptionally well. I’ve used written and verbal positive affirmations since childhood and I can give numerous examples of how well this works.

Now some of you may be thinking, “I do affirmations all of the time, this isn’t anything new!” What’s different is the use of a specific period of time - five to ten minutes only - of deliberate focused attention on one affirmation. And forgetting all about it when you are done. It’s very concentrated and more powerful than saying or writing affirmations in general.

Seth suggests that we take five to ten minutes each day to focus on one particular statement as vividly as possible. This is a statement or an affirmation we want to see manifest into physical reality. This affirmation must feel comfortable to use — if it doesn’t, change it.

Let’s say, for example, you want a new job or career. Your affirmation may be something like, “I now have my ideal job, doing what I love and earning a great income”. You may want to insert an actual income figure in your affirmation. Word it so it feels just right.

I did this one several years ago for a particular job I wanted after graduating from college. Although there wasn’t an opening at the company I wanted to work for, I did get the job in an unusual way. In the meantime, I easily and quickly attracted another job that was similar which led me to certain people and circumstances. In a brief period of time, I was able to get my foot in the door of the company I wanted to work for originally. By doing this exercise, I set energies in motion which opened doors and attracted opportunities I was not aware of. I didn’t worry how it would play out, I just allowed it to happen. It all worked out even better than I expected.

So decide what affirmation you would like to use and begin. Every time your mind tries to wander, bring it right back to your statement or affirmation, repeating it mentally or out loud, over and over again - for only five to ten minutes (you may want to set a timer). Then forget all about it until the next day when you do this exercise again.

What you have just done is focused attention, natural hypnosis. According to Seth, if you do this exactly as mentioned, in at least three days, you will start to see the results of your intentions. Some may see it sooner. Continue doing the exercise regardless and allow the miracles to happen. Seth explains:

“Inner channels must become repatterned. There will be a feel to this that will serve as your own individual guidline. There is no need to continue the practice over ten minutes. In fact, many will find that difficult to do. Spending a longer period of time simply reinforces the idea of problems involved.” [The Nature of Personal Reality by Jane Roberts]

I wish everyone great success using natural hypnosis sessions in this way — it really works! For other great exercises and techniques by Seth, some of the books I highly recommend by Jane Roberts are Seth Speaks, The Nature of Personal Reality, Dreams and Projections of Consciousness and by Lynda Dahl — Beyond the Winning Streak: Using Conscious Creaton to Consistently Win at Life and Ten Thousand Whispers: A Guide to Conscious Creation.

Differences Between Perfume And Perfume Oils

May 28th, 2008

The history of perfume oils dates back to ancient Egypt when these fine scented oils were presented to royalty as gifts. In modern times, however, when the word “perfume” is said, most people think of department store fragrances, which consist mainly of the concentrated oil and alcohol solution. Nevertheless, as more and more people are finding out about them, perfume oils are experiencing great popularity. Here are some interesting facts about perfume oils:

1) Strength of smell - Perfume oils are highly concentrated and up to ten times more concentrated than department store perfumes. This quality allows oils to last longer than their eau de perfume counterparts.

2) Alcohol - Perfumes have alcohol in them, which creates different smell effects. Most body oils use carrier oils like jojoba or grapeseed oil in place of alcohol. In some fragrances, the smell can change as the alcohol evaporates different scent notes through time. With oils, the scent is more constant.

3) Price - A noticeable difference between perfumes and perfume oils is price. Perfumes have a very high markup and great profit margins, which is perhaps why many celebrities have embarked on the trend of creating their own perfumes and colognes. Perfume oils can be sold very cheaply, or even more expensively than the perfumes, depending on how they are positioned in the market.

4) Body chemistry - Just because a perfume or cologne smells good on you, doesn’t mean that the oil version will. Perfumes only have a small percentage of oil, so they are quite different than pure body oils. This interaction between the fragrance and your body may produce a different scent perception altogether.

5) Packaging - Clearly, department store perfumes are very nicely packaged and thus make great gifts for friends and family. Many perfume oils are sold in less attractive containers, which is part of the reason for their lower price.

6) Uses - Perfumes are only intended for use on the body, but perfume oils can be used to create a variety of scented products, like soap, candles, bath oils, air fresheners, and many other types of scented products. Be aware that there are different types of fragrance oils and that pure uncut oils are not safe for use on the skin.

In summary, whether you choose to use perfume oils or not will depend on the factors above. Try out a small sample first and who knows, you might just discover a delightful new product to add to your personal inventory.

Female Pattern Hair Loss - It Depends On The Genes

May 4th, 2008

Female pattern hair loss is very common nowadays due to hectic schedules and stress. Stress is the main cause of female hair loss. Women rarely become bald, but hair loss is common. If more than 100 hairs falls from your head while applying oil or when you shower then you need to take proper steps to control hair loss.

Men usually become bald if their hair becomes thin, while women do not completely become bald. It is very rare and if it happens then it could be due to genetic factors. Women could lose some hair or sometimes the hair becomes thin which could be treated if proper care is taken or by consulting a hair specialist.

Androgenic alopecia is the most common type of hair loss in females. If lots of hair falls in a day and if you feel your hair is becoming thin then it is the perfect time to visit a dermatologist. If your parents were bald then the chances of you becoming bald is more. Hair loss or balding depends on the gene of the parents. Female hair loss could start at puberty and it is mainly due to hormonal imbalance. Women could also lose hair once they discontinue birth control pills, or even when they are pregnant. Physical and emotional stress could also cause hair loss.

There are various medications available for female hair loss. Homeopathic, ayurvedic, allopathic medication can be bought from stores. There are many homemade remedies, which would help in gaining hair and also thicken hair. While going for a treatment or hair restoration surgery it is advised to take professional advise. Consultation with dermatologists would help in determining the root cause of your hair loss. Around 25 million American females are affected with this type of hair loss.

Anti-Aging Skin Care: Why Can’t We Just Keep it Simple?

April 26th, 2008

If you’ve ever tried to find a skin care product to deal with the skin care concerns of aging skin, you’re probably as confused as the average person. There are so many products and ingredients that tout ‘increase in this’, ‘decrease in that’ , ‘revitalized this and revitalized that’ and on and on and on. Many empty promises or over-hyped formulations.

In order to understand what anti-aging skin care products are intended to do, you have to first understand about what the aging process is for skin. Aging skin has the condition where the structural proteins that bind and support the skin, collagen and elastin, lose their resiliency and cohesion, causing the skin to wrinkle and/or sag. The body’s ability to produce new collagen and elastin also diminishes with age while the cells in the various layers of our skin decline and thin, loosing the ability to adequately maintain moisture. Without proper hydration, the healing mechanisms of the skin cease to function, adversely affecting the skin’s ability to receive nutrients and repair itself. The result is rough, lose, wrinkled skin.

Of course, we all want to have the best skin possible at any age and are searching for solutions to maintain our skin’s youthfulness. In our quest and with the constant marketing and advancements in skin care, it can sometimes be difficult to find an affordable and effective solution for great skin care.
However, what you need to know is that it doesn’t have to be that complex (as many of the product name suggest!). What you should consider is that what any skin care program should be is simple. That’s it, just simple. The results that we all want are simple: soft, smooth, clear, radiant, younger-looking skin.

Too much of the time now days, skin care marketers are trying to convenience consumers that they need formulations that no average consumer can understand, or day and night products, or formulations that highly successful, well-known personalities would use. If you think about it, how many products do you currently have in your storage that were purchased because of these marketing strategies?
With these types of advertising, there are so many re-touches and questionable representation of the product effectiveness because the personality also receives so many other types of services and procedures that impact the condition of skin that you really cannot know the true results that the highly marketed products will bring.
The positive side of the situation is that there are constant and ever evolving advances in skin care and we all have the option for our skin condition improving with age.

If you are looking for a skin care program, there are some guidelines you may want to consider when making your skin care choices:
Protect your skin while you are in the sun and extreme weather. Use properprotection.

Drink lots of water. It’s so important for proper skin hydration and keeping your body clean from toxins and other chemicals that could cause adverse reactions in your skin.

You should know what you are using on your skin. If you can’t pronounce the majority of the ingredients or there are more than 5 or 6 ingredients, then it may be too complex for what your skin actually needs. Skin care that uses these types of formulations are full of fillers, coloring, preservatives, and chemicals that are not beneficial for your skin and come with a high price where the consumer is paying for the filler more so than the active ingredients. These types of ingredients are only needed to fill up the bottle and make it appealing to smell or touch. Sometimes products will contain multiple active ingredients but in order to formulate these ingredients, it requires that other ingredients be added. You end up paying for something your skin cannot use. The cheaper ingredients are filling up the bottle. Try a similar approach to how you would choose your food (skin is ‘live cells’ and needs nourishment). Watch the labels and choose products with skin healthy formulations where the active ingredients are 80% of the ingredients.

You should use a good and effective cleanser. This is the most important step in your skin care process. Many cleansing products do not leave your skin feeling smooth and deeply cleansed. Find a product that goes deep into the pores, provides light exfoliation and conditioning, and does not leave any residue. Applying moisturizers and treatments on top of skin that is not completely clean will just make the problem worse by clogging pores and showing a rough, uneven skin texture.

You should be able to adjust your program to meet your skin’s daily needs. If you can’t adjust the use of the products to match what your skin needs on a particular day, are you really getting what you need? Your program should be able to hydrate, heal, and renew your skin. You should see this gradual improvement everyday and not have to wait 30 to 60 days for results. It’s like watering a plant. A plant that needs water as a critical nutrient will respond immediately to the water being absorbed through its roots and perk up within a few hours. Watch your skin for a week or so and you’ll know how effective the program can ultimately be for your skin care needs.

You should be able to quickly go through your regime. It should not takemore than 5 minutes. A skin care program should include the steps to cleanse, exfoliate, treat and/or moisturize. You should be able to pick and choose what you need based on you skin’s current condition for that day.

You should not be able to feel the product on your skin. In order for skin care to really be effective, it must penetrate the skin cells. Product sitting on top of your skin is product that is not penetrating the skin layers. Products with fillers and other unnecessary, complex formulations will may not get deep or directly enough to provide the treatment and results you are looking for. You should not know that you are wearing your skin care.

You should feel comfortable with makeup optional skin. If your skin care is really working, your skin will improve and you will not want to put makeup on it if you don’t have to. Most skin problems are correctable to a large degree. You should be able to go out feeling confident that your skin is at its best (with minimal makeup) no matter what your age is. Also, by using makeup less, you are giving your skin more time to repair and restore itself without the interruption of other product chemicals on your skin.

The Truth About Hair Loss: Male Pattern Baldness

April 17th, 2008

Male Pattern Baldness

On average, there are 90,000 to 150,000 hairs on the scalp. The hairs grow from roots called follicles. Blood vessels at the base of each follicle provide nourishment vital for hair and hair growth. Hair growth in each root occurs in a cycle independent of each other. At any time about 90 percent of the hairs on the scalp are in the growth phase, while the other 10 percent are in the resting phase. The growth phase can last an average of up to five years, after which the follicle goes into a resting phase, which can last upto four months. At the end of this phase, the hair falls out and is replaced by a new hair. This is all a perfectly normal part of the growth cycle. In fact, on a typical day, up to 150 hairs can be lost. Baldness occurs when hair is lost at an unusually high rate and hair replacement occurs at an
unusually slow rate and/or when normal hairs are replaced by weaker, smaller ones.

What is Male Pattern Baldness?

Almost all cases of hair loss is the result of Male pattern baldness (or androgenetic alopecia).Male pattern baldness occurs much more frequently in men than in women.Even in mild cases It affects roughly 50 million men in the United States. Balding may begin at any age after puberty. While some types of hair loss is reversible, male pattern baldness tends to be permanent. It occurs in a very typical pattern on the scalp.Hair loss usually begins at the temples and at the top of the head toward the back, causing a receding hairline and a bald spot.Sometimes progressing further until the two sections become joined, leaving a horseshoe pattern on the sides and back of the head.Male pattern baldness progresses slowly and is not associated with any physical discomfort.

What causes male pattern baldness?

Male pattern baldness is thought to be a combination of hormonal and genetic factors.Testosterone and its more potent derivative dihydrotestosterone (DHT) are the contributimg factors of the degree of balddness. Whatever the exact causes of male pattern baldness may be, it is hereditary. A tendency toward baldness on either side of a man’s family(mother or father) indicates The speed, pattern, and degree of the balding. Usually, the earlier it begins, the more severe the hair loss will be.
Balding is not caused by wearing a hat,you cant regrow hair by Massaging or brushing,or excessive shampooing stimulate hair growth. These are thought to be false.Stress may contribute to a form of hair loss, but normal everyday stress does not contribute to balding

What are the treatment options for male pattern baldness?

-Herbal Shamppos

-Herbal Remedies

-Specialty Shampoos(for example Helsinki Formula)

-Wigs

-Transplants

-Medication(Propecia,Minoxidil etc)

-Home Remedies

-Others

Hair transplantation

In hair transplants, healthy live follicles are removed from a donor site on the scalp and transplanted to the balding area. The follicles are commonly taken in “plugs” of one hair to two hairs (micrografts) from the sides or back of the head and moved to the balding area, with the hairline being slowly reconstructed. Larger plugs may be used. Donor sites with full hair make transplants more successful. Some scarring may occur. Transplanted follicles are usually permanent. Synthetic hair has also been used for transplants but has been known for to have a high rate of infection and has been been banned. As with any surgical procedure, hair transplantation present certain risks. If you are considering a transplant, consult your doctor.

Wigs

A hairpiece can be custom made to cover a balding area. Hairpieces may fade and over time. It is important to clean the scalp under the hairpiece regularly.Another option is a weave, in which fake(synthetic) hair is sewn into existing hair.

This just a quick run down of what happens when most men reach a certain age. Here are a couple of sites that we have found that will educate and inform and give you everything you want to know about Male Pattern Baldness. The reviews are very positive and even might give you possible solutions to this problem that has afflicted almost every man for generations.

What Makes The Sedu Flat Iron So Special?

April 14th, 2008

If you have been browsing for a new flat iron, you have no doubt run across ads for the Sedu ionic ceramic flat iron. In fact, this iron is touted by famous Hollywood actresses and stylists to the stars as being the best flat iron that money can buy. But just what is so special about this iron and is it worth all of the hype?

The Sedu flat iron is a unique flat iron that has heating plates constructed of ceramic and tourmaline. The naturally moist substances infuse moisture and shine deep into the hair strand as you are straightening and the negative ionic energy produced by the plates promote hair strength and health. The ultra-smooth plates also eliminate any snagging and breakage that is associated with conventional metal-plated flat irons.

While you can purchase other flat irons with ceramic and negative ionic technologies, these irons are only plated with the material. The Sedu iron uses solid ceramic and tourmaline plates to create a tool that releases up to six times the amount of healthy energy.

All of this helps to produce a look that is unsurpassed by that created by other flat irons. In fact, the Sedu ceramic iron can transform even the nappiest locks into sleek and shiny tresses. The temperature control of the flat iron also makes it perfect for brittle, damaged hair and coarse, stubborn hair alike. The Sedu is even great for black hair.

The only drawback of the Sedu is that is comes with a pretty hefty price tag. You can expect to spend anywhere from $120 to $199 depending on the retailer and if you luck into a sale or not. And since the Sedu is only available through select salons and certain authorized websites, you need to be careful to make sure that the company you’re buying from is legitimate and has the backing of the Sedu company. If it doesn’t, you could get an inferior product that is not warranted.

Even though the Sedu has a higher price tag than most other ionic flat irons, it is the only one that is solid ceramic. Most are only plated with a thin coating of material, and even these irons cost around $100. While you can get great results with other ceramic irons, the results obtained with the Sedu are unsurpassable.

The bottom line is this: All of the hype surrounding the Sedu is not just a false promise. The Sedu does deliver and there are very good reasons why it is the top selling flat iron in America and other countries.

Hurricane of Fear

April 3rd, 2008

Have you noticed how fear demands your immediate attention?

Manipulation through fear by people in positions of authority pervades
every aspect of our culture. Media use fear to get ratings. Politicians use
fear to get votes. Corporations use fear to sell products. Government
uses fear to influence public opinion, i.e. Saddam Hussein has weapons
of mass destruction … “It’s a slam dunk!”

In the thirty-five years my parents lived in Florida they experienced
numerous deadly hurricanes. What did they do without up-to-the-minute
satellites and experts telling them what to do? They listened to weather
reports, trusted their instincts and did what was necessary to survive.
Accustomed to thinking for themselves, previous generations relied on
their ingenuity to make creative intelligent decisions.

In March I was at a Bed and Breakfast in Key West. While chatting with
the friendly desk clerk I asked him whether he was among the
thousands of individuals who evacuated the Keys last year in advance
of Hurricane Wilma. He told me he’s lived in the Keys for twenty-five
years and thus far the weather hasn’t driven him out of his house, which
is on concrete stilts. Nevertheless, he does have a ‘just-in-case’ plan.

Even with good leadership, government is limited in what it can do to
protect citizens at home. In the case of the ultimate catastrophe, the
federal government’s first priority is not we the people. It is the survival of
the country’s leaders and lawmakers. We cannot rely on government for
protection from monumental natural disasters, plagues and terrorist
attacks. Government can provide advice such as the emergency “Go
Bag” suggestion that followed the September 11 terrorist attack. Most
people probably have forgotten about “Go Bags.” In a season of quiet,
Americans have a tendency towards complacency. But hey, the man in
the red cape is not going to fly to the rescue of Metropolis. Survival
depends on savvy individuals who are prepared. Think of it as an
extended camping trip that includes the pet pooch.

Too often we don’t realize we have a choice. Either we can react to fear
or we can think for ourselves and make intelligent decisions. In Neale
Donald Walsch’s “Conversations With God, Book 2,” he makes an
interesting comparison between Reactive and Creative: “Notice they are
the same word. Only the ‘C’ has been moved! When you ‘C’ things
correctly, you become Creative, rather than Reactive.”

This may sound a bit contrived. Maybe you challenge his books or think
he’s a phony. What difference does it make? Doesn’t your life involve a
series of choices? Following like sheep is easy but dumb. Being
creative requires some clear independent thinking.

President Franklin Roosevelt led the American people into and out of
war by reminding them that fear is a state of mind which only begets
more fear. Anything can happen. The stock market will head
south. It frequently does. Interest rates will rise. They often do. There will
be a deadly plague. Been there too. Thousands will die from terrorist
bombs. They already have. Living in constant fear of what might
happen is insane.

Imaginative independent thinking people like Thomas Edison or Bill
Gates for example, have made America the most creative nation on
earth. But if we allow government and corporations to think for us, we
are nothing but lemmings; we destroy the democracy our enlightened
Founding Fathers created, and we fail the millions of Americans who
died for it.

The number of people that cannot locate a renowned country on a map,
or name their congressional representatives is embarrassing. Yet they
know exactly how Tom and Katie delivered their baby and who is the
next American Idol. I am a lighthearted person. Without carefree, fun
loving people and experiences in my life I’d be bored and boring. But
there’s a difference between the fairytale of celebrity living, and living
the fairytale of celebrity.

Subliminally and overtly, we are being conditioned to believe the
falsehoods and fairytales of the “American Dream.” The fairytale of
Santa Claus, the fairytale of the Mayflower, the pilgrims and the first
Thanksgiving; the fairytale of the way the West was won, the fairytale of
why we went to war in Iraq, even the fairytale of the fairytale wedding
next time you see the clip of Princess Diana walking down the aisle,
take a good look at the poor girl’s face.

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under
heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3.1. Now I believe in this truth. But it is the
choices we make in life that determine the season.

Healthy Skin Needs The Nutrition Of Vitamins And Minerals

March 29th, 2008

We all want to look our best. Healthy skin makes us look younger and makes us feel more beautiful. In addition to the cosmetic benefits of healthy skin there are other health benefits to consider. Our skin was designed to be a protective barrier to keep bacteria, viruses and other contaminants from entering the body. Eating healthy is a great start to keeping your skin healthy but adding vitamins and mineral supplements act as insurance.

Free-radical damage occurs in skin just like every other part of our bodies. Anti-oxidant vitamins, like vitamin A, C and E are essential in warding off this damage. One of the types of free radical damage is the

Anti-oxidant vitamins, like Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Vitamin E are important to healthy skin because it is these vitamins that share in the responsibility of controlling the damage that free radicals, byproducts of energy production within the body and of environmental contaminants, produce. Collagen and elastin, which are fibers that support the skin, are damaged by these free radicals. As these are this damage occurs, wrinkles and a lack of that youthful elasticity begin to take place. Vitamin C is essential in the production of collagen, making it necessary to the look of the skin and its function. Recent studies have even found that the combination of Vitamins C and E can be used to help repair sun-damaged skin.

Small deficiencies of vitamin A can affect skins health and beauty. In addition to its anti-oxidant properties, vitamin A helps eliminate dryness and flakiness to the skin. This dryness makes lines and wrinkles in skin even more apparent than skin that is hydrated.

Vitamin A’s main use though is as a topical treatment for the reduction of lines and wrinkles and it’s been found effective against severe acne. Recent studies have found skin treatments that include the combination of Vitamin A and C can in some cases reverse the damage caused by aging and the sun.

Vitamin B deficiencies can lead to cracking, bleeding and even skin legions. These legions can be dangerous because they can allow bacteria, viruses and other contaminants to enter the body through the skin. Even a little shortage of Vitamin B can leave skin looking scaly and badly textured. Creams made with vitamin B have been found to hydrated skin cells, leaving firmer, healthier looking skin.

If you’re plagued by dark circles under your eyes, vitamin K has been found to help. Some studies claim that creams made up of both Vitamin K and Vitamin A are more effective than those made with Vitamin K, but research is still being done on this combination.

The minerals Selenium, Copper and Zinc have also been found to improve the look and health of skin. Selenium can be used as a topical treatment or a dietary supplement in an effort to prevent skin cancer. While Zinc, copper and the addition of vitamin C work together to keep skin healthy and firm by forming elastin.

Used correctly by following standard guidelines, vitamins and minerals can be a great way to keep skin looking young and healthy. The key is to recognize that these are powerful substances and care should be taken to use the proper dosage. Not following guidelines could result in effects that can result in serious side effects. Used correctly though, vitamins and minerals can be a welcome addition to your beauty regime.

What are You Reflecting?

March 21st, 2008

Have you looked in the mirror lately? I mean, really looked in
the mirror. What did you see? Were you surprised by the image
being reflected back to you? Did it look like you? Did it meet
the image you hold of yourself in your mind?

If it didn’t match, what were the differences? What was the
image telling you?

What do you think the image is that you are projecting out to the
world? Does it match your inner view? How has it changes from a
year ago? 5 years? 10 years?

Think about the image you have of yourself. Has it evolved over
the years as you have? Do you still see yourself in your 20’s
even though you are in your 50’s?

So often, we lock an image in our mind of who we are, never
upgrading it or enhancing it as we change in the world. We
upgrade our technology, cell phones, computers, etc, however we
forget to upgrade our inner view of ourselves.

Think about how much you’ve changed and ask yourself if your
image is really outdated? Is your inner image stuck in the 70’s
and disco, while your outer self approaches the world in the
latest fashions?

Internal imaging is not only about your body image, but it is
about your entire being, mind, body and spirit. Body image is
such a powerful subject in the media of late with actresses
coming forward to speak about their struggles with food and
image.

While the pressure they are under comes so much from their
industry, it is also self imposed. Insecurity about their
appearance existed deep within their being and rattled their
inner foundation long before the external pressure began.

Think about your inner foundation. Is it stable or rickety and
swayed by the latest fashion model to be on the cover of a major
magazine? If you don’t feel stable and sure of yourself and the
image you have of your self, what steps can you take?

First, identify that the image is just that- an image. The image
is not a real thing, but just a picture or idea you took and
filed away in your memory. That snapshot has been subjected to
years of media influence, family and society influences.

The snapshot is no longer a clear picture, its been subjected to
many layers of distortion and became an image that resembles a
digitally enhanced, high-tech animation or caricature. It is no
longer the truth.

After many years of distortion, it requires clarity. Sorting
through the layers may take some time and concentrated effort.
It takes patience and commitment, along with a good dose of
compassion and self nurturing.

As you peel away the layers, each step of the way its important
to clarify the truth. Ask yourself if the image you are seeing
is the core truth for your being. Listen to your intuition.
Feel the answer deep within your belly. Does the belief attached
to that image ring true? Is it your belief or society’s? Is it
your mother’s voice you hear, or maybe another’s?

Then ask what motivates that particular image. Is it motivated
to please mother? Is it motivated to please father’s image of
you? Could it be motivated by attracting attention, or by not
wanting to attract attention? What is the deepest motivator?
Could it be motivated by aloneness and the quest to never be
alone? Could it be motivated by comparison and the need to meet
some fictional inner standard?

Once you have identified your motivators, you can choose to
address the core issues. You can face the emotion that is
connected to the belief and release it, then replace the belief
with a new truth.

You define your own truths. You create your own images. You
define who you are and how you choose to present yourself to the
world. It’s all up to you. You are the creator of your world.
Regain your power from the fears you have held within you. Call
on friends, family, or counseling for assistance in sorting the
facts from the fiction.

You are the only one who knows the truth for you. Others can try
to define it for you and tell you who they want you to be, or you
can look to others who will help you ask questions and uncover
your own truth.

Seek empowerment, not mass media and pre-determined molds to try
to fit in to. Seek your inner path and find the light of your
own truth, then radiate that light out for the world to see.

You are a unique being with your own inner beauty and shining
light. If you recognize it, own it and value it, then so will
others. Let that be the new image you show to the world.
